PGA Championship Round 1 Recap: 7 players open with rounds of 69

PGA

Hey, the PGA Championship started this morning!

Did you know that? I didn’t and I like to think that I follow the golf pretty closely.

Anyways, the action started at Quail Hollow in Charlotte, North Carolina, and there are some big names near the top of the leaderboard!

But that’s not why we’re here. We’re here because we want to acknowledge all of the nice rounds that happened today, not necessarily the best ones. Let’s take a look at those nice rounds:

NICE

Some good names had nice rounds today, including Patrick Reed, Paul Casey, and Rickie Fowler. Their rounds of 69 put them just two strokes off the lead.

As for the actual leaders, if you care about that sort of thing, Thorbjorn Olesen and Kevin Kisner each fired 4-under-par rounds of 67 to hold the lead at the Par 71 course.

As for last place, three players, David Muttitt, Stuart Deane, and Jaysen Hansen all opened with rounds of 84 to bring up the rear.

Round 2 will get underway at 7:20 a.m. EST, with TV coverage starting on TNT at 1 p.m.
